New procedure for adding photos to contest albums

Some if not all of you have had an issue with adding your photos to the monthly contest album. If you add your photo directly to the album then you are unable to make any changes to it on your own. To date, I have had to manually grant the original owner permission to edit his/her own photo.

I have tried out the following procedure that works well. For each entry in the contest, add your photo directly to your own personal photo album. Edit the title and subject after you have added each photo. Finally, select "Move Photo" from the menu below your photo and select the contest album as the destination. After your photo has been moved you will be able to make all changes to it on your own.

January subject is "backlit"

I am officially announcing that the January subject is, "backlit". I am open to any twisted interpretation of this so long as the group is willing to buy it. If "backlit" means toe fungus in Mandarin then go for it.

Seb is next in line to choose the subject for February.

Please chime in on the forum discussion concerning when we should announce the next month's subject. No decision has been made yet on this.

Congratulations Bill on your first place photo in the November, 2008 contest!

FIRST PLACE (BIL_2167)

I'm also introducing our new text editor that allows you to insert images from our photo gallery into your post. Simply press the G2 button in the editor and drill down to the images that you want to include in your post.

More to come...

I'm looking for volunteers to:

 • Come up with a slogan/mission for our web site.
 • Write copy for an About tab that will describe our club.
 • Create alternate rotating banner images.

As far as the banner images are concerned, select some images but hold off until I'm certain that this is the theme module that I want to use from now on. I'll give you the dimensions later. Perhaps we all could contribute a few banner images.

Add an avatar to your user profile

You can add an avatar to your user profile that will show up in forum posts, comments, and blog pages. Unfortunately, they don't appear anywhere in the gallery.

You can upload your image by selecting:

 1. My Account
 2. Edit Tab
 3. Scroll down to Picture
 4. Select Browse
 5. Select Save

Please size you image to 65x65 pixels. I might eventually select a photo of myself instead of the cat image for BarrySvee. I'm using a separate icon for my administrator account, bsvee.

The Australian connection, tasked with the December project, has come up with:

Footprints in the snow perhaps. Or beach sand.

Keep them small...

Until I get the photo limits in place, please keep the size of the files you are uploading under 1 MB. They don't need to be of printable size to view in a web browser.

Also, with the theme I'm using if you go to the photo gallery you are going to have to type the URL into the browser to move up again. I'll try to fix that next weekend

We need a logo!

Who would like to come up with a new logo for ISOBAP? Make it large enough to be resized down to whatever banner dimension I plan to use so that it doesn't get blocky.

This is my first blog post and I'm making it just to see how it works. If you see any content by "bsvee" then it's me administering this web site, otherwise I plan to be logged on as "BarrySvee".
